Atlamaya, Mexico City
For a time, this was my home in Mexico City. Its Mexican modernist design was the kind of architecture I had always imagined myself living in. Climbing vines covered the concrete walls until the building seemed almost consumed by plant life, while potted bugambilia added color. At roughly 7,350 feet above sea level, Mexico City has a landscape that feels mountainous and tropical at once. Details like these remind me why, at the time, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else.
